Heuristics, as I think you can tell from this chapter, is a necessary toolset for any UX analytics practitioner or team to master and utilize. But it’s not a standalone practice – it’s part of the entire methodology that UX analytics encompasses.
You can do heuristics and then use data visualization to do your reporting. After you interview your stakeholder, you can start a heuristics review when told that the company wants to add new features to an existing product.
When your analytics via tools such as Hotjar show you where problems are arising with a group of users, you can test to verify that with a heuristics evaluation.
