Resilience and redundancy are important parts of maintaining network connectivity, and the same is true when dealing with third-party connections. Failure is always a possibility, and the ability to recover from it so that business can continue is critical to companies. There are a lot of ways to offer redundancy to third-party connectivity, and unsurprisingly, all of them are based on the connectivity method. This section will cover design patterns for redundant connectivity with a focus on the redundancy itself, not traffic engineering. Some of these redundancy options are built into the AWS native offers, and others require extra effort.
