This chapter will focus on connecting third-party networks to AWS and managing the complexity of using different types of intracloud and extracloud connectivity. The goal of this chapter is to show how different native and non-native connectivity options interact with AWS networks. In the simplest terms, a third-party network is any network that is not inside the AWS cloud. Except for AWS Outposts, an on-premises deployment of AWS infrastructure, this covers on-premises networks, networks within collocated data centers, branch offices, and even other clouds. In all cases, AWS has a rigid set of integration options with any of these networks that differs only based on how the third-party network chooses to connect to AWS.
