Third-Party Connectivity Options

This section covers third-party connectivity options, how they connect to AWS, and the level of trust required to facilitate connectivity. Some of this information may overlap with previous chapters, but the focus in this chapter is on the third-party connectivity aspects of the solutions and less focused on how the solution itself works.

AWS PrivateLink

PrivateLink is an AWS technology powering multiple services, some that are AWS services themselves and others that are security-as-a-service (SaaS) partner services. The concept is straightforward: create an interface or gateway endpoint in your environment that provides private AWS-managed connectivity to something on the other side, whether that is an AWS or third-party service.
