Edit without Tears with Final Cut Pro
By :

As this book is aimed at the current users of Final Cut Pro, it is unnecessary to explain all the normal methods of adding clips to a project in the magnetic timeline, but I feel it is important to review the concept of the connected clips and the associated three-point edits.
Connected clips are exactly what they say they are: connected to the main (primary) story. The connection point (shown by the red arrow in Figure 4.13) is very small and hard to see. Being able to see the connection point is made even harder by the fact that it is blue on a black background. The default position of the connection point is at the beginning of the connected clip. The connection point can be repositioned to attach to a different point or another primary clip by holding Command + Option and clicking on the connected clip at the new location.
