Automating User Creation and Updates

In the Creating internal and external users section of Chapter 5, Managing Users, you reviewed different methods for adding internal and external users to your Adobe Learning Manager account. These methods work fine and may well cover your needs, but they also have serious limitations, especially for large organizations:

  • Most large organizations already have directories where the user data ALM needs to work is already available. Therefore, it makes little sense to duplicate this data in the ALM account.
  • Creating users is one thing, but maintaining the user list over time is a completely different challenge. This is another instance where duplicating user data makes little sense. ALM should be able to update its user list whenever the central corporate directory is updated.
