Creating and Using Badges

Badges are one of the most commonly used game design elements in online education. They symbolize the learner’s achievements, help add credibility to the learner’s credentials, and are a source of pride.

In Adobe Learning Manager, learners earn badges by achieving skills, completing courses and learning paths, or achieving certifications. To use badges, you must first define them in the system. Then, you need to link those badges to courses, learning paths, skills, and certifications.

In this section, you will learn how to create custom badges using the following steps:

  1. Make sure you are logged in as an administrator.
  2. From the administrator home page, click the Badges link located in the Configure section of the left sidebar.

This opens the Badges page. As shown in the following screenshot, a handful of badges are already defined on your ALM trial account:
