Managing instructor-led Classes

In the previous chapter, you experienced taking a self-paced course as a learner. This course contained only asynchronous self-paced modules, such as video files, PDF documents, and SCORM packages. Learners can review these modules at their own convenience with little to no human intervention. Quizzes are automatically graded, results and completion statuses are automatically reported to Learning Manager, badges and credits are automatically awarded, and so on.

Instructor-led courses, on the other end, involve a lot more logistics. Whether face-to-face or virtual, these synchronous activities require instructors and learners to be present at the same time, whether in a classroom or online. This obviously raises scheduling challenges, but that’s not all:
