Building a Multiplayer Obby

One of the most popular genres on Roblox since the dawn of the platform has been obbies. Easy Endless Obby, Tower of Hell, and Barry’s Prison Run are all obstacle course levels laid out in a mostly linear progression style and feature a winners’ room at the end.

In this chapter, we will be constructing an entire obby game, start to finish. This includes building the starting lobby, four unique levels, and the winners’ room, and putting it all together with a checkpoint system that saves your progress. Some of these levels have lava, which we will create by inserting a script. There are also spinning objects in many obbies that are made using CylindricalConstraint. By the end of this chapter, you will not only have a solid grasp of how to use new plugins such as Resize Align and Archimedes but also need-to-know knowledge to build an entire obby game, from start to finish.
