Designing the Adobe InDesign Way

Having learned how to create color swatches earlier in this chapter, we are now going to take a look at applying swatches to content on the page. We will do this from both the Swatches panel and the Control panel, allowing you to be as efficient as possible. In addition, we will look at how you can apply custom colors to an object without the use of a swatch, for those occasions where you just want to use a one-off color.
To complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages and the intent set to Print, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1. You should already be comfortable with creating new color swatches, as covered earlier in this chapter.
To apply colors within your document, just follow these steps:
Change the font size
Change margin width
Change background colour
