In this recipe, we are going to look at fitting as it applies to images and their respective frames in InDesign. There are a variety of options that, when used correctly, can simplify and even automate your fitting of images within their respective frames in InDesign.
As with resizing images, it is worth noting that the fitting of images will also impact the effective resolution of the image, so if you are not already comfortable with resolution and its impact, I would recommend the Checking the image resolution recipe later in this chapter. In that recipe, we will resize and apply fitting to images, and look more closely at the impact this has on the resolution.
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1. You should be comfortable adding images to your document, as shown in the Placing images into InDesign...
