Designing the Adobe InDesign Way

Saving files in InDesign is a pretty straightforward process, but there are a few different file types, and understanding the difference and using the right one can be a useful thing to know.
In this recipe, we will learn how to save a standard InDesign (INDD) file as well as how to save an InDesign template (INDT). We will also look at why, when, and how to save a file to the InDesign Markup Language (IDML) format and how to save a copy of your InDesign file.
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1.
In order to save your file from InDesign, just follow these steps:
Change the font size
Change margin width
Change background colour
