Managing certifications

Before we get started, let's deal with the basic concept of certifications. A certification comprises a single program or recurring programs, both of which expire after a certain amount of time. The renewal of the initial certification, known as recertification, either uses the same program or another program:

There are some program properties and actions that have been re-purposed to facilitate certifications, while others have been added:

  • Expiry date: The time when a program's validity ends
  • Program reset: Makes use of the reset function to facilitate recertification
  • Due date: Used for both certification and recertification
