Insight into Windows Server 2012 PowerShell (3.0)

Before we hit the installation topic of this section, let's first go ahead and understand the requirements for installing and running PowerShell 3.0.

PowerShell OS support

PowerShell 3.0 is supported on the following listed operating systems as of now. All these supported operating systems provide the same level of functionality for local and remote PowerShell sessions.

  • Windows 7 with Service Pack 1

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1

  • Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack

  • Windows 8

  • Windows Server 2012

System requirements
