Setting up Hyper-V Replica

So far we have been introduced to Hyper-V Replica and have seen the technical overview of the Hyper-V Replica feature. We also looked at the best practices section, where we discussed the various best practices and recommendations for implementing Hyper-V Replica in your environment.

Now that we have made ourselves familiar with Hyper-V Replica, we will move ahead with some real-world implementation, and will discuss how and where we can configure the Hyper-V server to replicate the virtual machine to a Hyper-V Replica server.

Enabling Hyper-V replication

Before we configure the replication settings for virtual machines, we are first required to enable the Hyper-V replication feature on the Hyper-V server. Hyper-V Replica is a built-in functionality added into the Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V role, and there is no need for you to install any other service or feature to enable its functionality.
