We've already seen how slicers and timelines provide interactivity to pivot tables. Let's spend a little more time on slicers and timelines. We can change them visually, which enables them to fit into tight spaces and/or become more visually efficient and appealing.
The two slicers that we've created so far are vertical slicers, that is, the selections are oriented up and down. Depending on how a dashboard is laid out, it may make sense to reduce the height and increase the width of the slicer visual/tile. If you are going to increase the width, you may want to increase the number of columns in the slicer. The default number of columns is one. In effect, we'll create a horizontal slicer. To create a horizontal slicer, follow these steps:
