There are two additional features we'd like to share regarding the GL function for building any financial statements using Jet Express for GP. One feature can eliminate a potential problem, while the second adds cool functionality to refreshing reports. Let's dig into these now.
Occasionally, when referencing categories or accounts that have no transactions and, therefore, a zero balance, Jet may display an amount because it doesn't know what to do if no transactions exist. This is easy to correct and/or prevent.
In the following example, we have built a report that displays the account number, account description, and the amount for two account categories. The first category is Cash and the second is Deferred Revenue/Expense accounts. Although there are some accounts assigned to the Deferred Revenue/Expense categories, these accounts have never been used; yet, a balance displays on the report. Let's correct this...
