Drawing with a pencil

Drawing is a method of expression within visual arts and at the same time one of the simplest and most proficient means of communicating ideas. During the preproduction stage, we may also need to produce some sketches in order to graphically demonstrate an idea or material. Lumion provides a nice effect called Sketch and this recipe will help you to produce both a line drawing and a colored sketch.

Getting ready

To completely understand how this effect works, remove or hide any effects you may have applied to your scene.

How to do it…

To add the Sketch effect to your visualization, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Movie or Photo mode, use the New effect button to open the effects library.

  2. Inside the effects library, open the Artistic tab and select the Sketch effect.

  3. The default values produce a good-looking colorful sketch that per se is a good result, but let's see how you can improve this sketch and produce a line drawing.
