Animating effects

This recipe is not about any special feature or secret to animate effects. Instead, this recipe will work as an exercise to illustrate how we can animate different effects and how those effects when combined can transport any walk-through that we may produce to the next level. For this recipe, we will make use of the Sun study, Cloud, and Rain effects.

Getting ready

For this exercise, we need a small clip, and using the Sun study, Cloud, and Rain effects, we are going to create a transition between a sunny day and a rainy day.

How to do it…

Let's start by adding some effects by performing the following steps:

  1. Select the clip with the animation and use the New effect button.
  2. From the World tab, select the Sun study effect. To better understand how this effect works, have a look at the Using the Sun study effect recipe in Chapter 5, Controlling the Weather.
