Animating curved paths

When we comprehend how animation works in Lumion and observe how simple the Move and Advanced move effects are, it is easy to start considering some practical and helpful applications. This recipe is initially going to cover a practical example using the Move effect and then cover the Advanced move effect in more depth. It will also tell us how to create curved paths. Two examples will be used to illustrate the true potential of this Lumion feature and how complex our walk-through visualizations can become.

Getting ready

For the first example, we are going to animate a door-opening scene. To do this, we need to import two separate files: one with the house and the second with the door. This is because the door needs to be a separate object in order to be animated separately from the house. For the second example, we are going to animate a car to exemplify how powerful the Advanced move effect can be and how to create complex animations using curved paths.
