Now, let's start our hands-on project for this chapter. It is a very common practice to create a task list in Excel or in some other text-based format such as CSV or XML. Such external formats can be easily imported into Project as the foundation upon which to create our schedule.
Case study: ACME Inc. wishes to upgrade their old corporate website to the latest technology. This will involve implementing a software framework, setting up a web server, and migrating data. Since all the components are pre-existing, ground-up development is not involved. You are the PM that's been assigned this prestigious customer-facing project. You have already created a WBS/task list in Excel with the full participation of your team. It looks like this:
