The Pro Tools 2023 Post-Audio Cookbook

It might seem counterintuitive to make a template after you’ve completed a project, but this is the best time to do it in my opinion. Let me explain.
It’s possible to forecast some of the needs of a project, but as the project progresses and you get further down the workflow, you will inevitably make changes and additions to how things were set up from the beginning. Some of these changes might be very specific to the project you are working on, but many things, such as audio routing and setting up sends and print paths, will be foundational. It’s these changes you want to capture and set up as templates moving forward, especially if you work on a series of regularly released programs that has consistent needs.
Let’s go over a few of the options we have when creating templates, along with their pros and cons. After, we will discuss some strategies for making better templates.
