The Pro Tools 2023 Post-Audio Cookbook

Inserts work well for adding different effects to a single track, but there are many situations where you will want to have different audio tracks be affected in the same way. This is where an Aux (auxiliary) track comes in. Audio clips cannot be placed in an Aux track; they exist solely as a location to route audio to. This allows you to combine many signals, and even duplicate signals as inputs if needed. We’ll explore what this looks like practically.
For this recipe, you’ll need a Pro Tools session with several tracks containing audio clips. Make sure the Inserts and I/O columns are active in the track headers. You can do this by going to the menu bar and selecting View| Edit Window Views and then selecting tracks.
