Not only can you create subtitles within Resolve but you can also export your subtitles to share with someone else, or import subtitles created elsewhere to use in your project.
Resolve supports two common web- and social media-friendly subtitle file formats: SRT (.srt
) and WebVTT (.vtt
).
SRT is a basic universally recognized subtitle file format used on the internet. This subtitle file format is the preferred format for Facebook.
WebVTT is a more advanced subtitle file format that adds more functionality to your subtitles than SRT, such as supporting text formatting. The WebVTT subtitle file format is used by YouTube and Vimeo.
There are three main ways that Resolve can export our subtitles as a separate subtitle file.
