All high-end films on streaming platforms and in the cinema will involve an element of color correction (commonly referred to as Grading). A professional colorist (the person who color grades a film) will remove any color cast or tint in the areas of the image that are meant to be pure black or white but have been created by the camera or lights set to the wrong color temperature for the scene (e.g., a scene was shot with reddish white light but the scene is meant to represent the bluish white light of midday Sun). This is an aspect of Grading called Balancing, as we are making sure that the whites (and blacks) are balanced between having a red or blue color temperature, resulting in a neutral white (pure white with no color tint).
