There are two basic types of hierarchies we need to consider when using PCM. There is the project hierarchy and the monetary hierarchy . Each of these structures allows for the rolling up of information to the various levels within the hierarchy. Security is not based on either of these hierarchical structures as it is assigned by the user at the project level only.
The project hierarchy is developed using the project tree on the opening screen of PCM. PCM can hold up to nine different tree configurations as required by the organization. It is a simple way to organize your projects into a hierarchical structure. The following screenshot is an example of a project hierarchical structure:
