There are four different types of clients that can be used to connect to a View environment. These client types include:
Traditional View software clients installed within an existing OS
Thin clients, which are devices that use a limited customized or embedded OS that is optimized to be used as a View Client
Zero clients, which are devices that use a system on a chip (SoC) or similar technology that is built to be used as a View Client
Access using a HTML5-compliant browser, either through the VMware Horizon Suite or a View Connection Server that has Feature Pack 1 installed
The traditional software client is the preferred method for organizations who wish to re-use their existing desktops or laptops as View Clients. Assuming these machines meet the required specifications, all that is required is to install the software client within the existing operating system.
