Integrated development environment


In previous versions of ServiceNow, Script fields consisted of little more than string text fields with some syntax highlighting. However, in Geneva and later, the Script fields have become more IDE-like. These fields which are designed to accept scripts now support more advanced syntax highlighting, error checking (otherwise known as Linting), and even some degree of intellisense-style code auto-completion for known APIs:

For server-side scripts with access to the current object for example, the new Script field IDE will even auto-complete and predict field names (though this only works on table-specific records after the record has been saved):

If it is not already activated on your instance, you can enable this functionality by activating the syntax editor plugin (com.glide.syntax_editor).
