Creating orders and managing order statuses

In e-commerce sites, the user places an order by selecting the products, adding them to the shopping cart, and checking out by completing the payment. Once an order has been placed, site management is responsible for shipping the products and managing the order statuses.

WooCommerce provides a built-in section for managing orders. An order in WooCommerce goes through multiple predefined and custom statuses before entering the completion stage. As site managers, it's important to understand the order management process in order to simplify this process for users as well as to manage different types of orders.

In this recipe, we are going to create orders by purchasing products from the frontend as well as manually creating the orders from the backend. We will also look at the process of managing order statuses.
