Using the Arranger Track to edit a song

A musical piece usually comprises several sections. Depending on the genre, a section could be a movement in a symphony, the head of a jazz arrangement, the chorus of a pop song, or a drop in an EDM track.

When creating a musical piece, we hardly ever know in advance how many sections it will contain, and in which order. As the song grows and these sections develop, we may be tempted to experiment with the form of the song by shuffling the order of its sections. Sometimes, this becomes a matter of necessity; a client may ask us to deliver several versions of a song – a short, radio-friendly version, a longer album version, and an even longer club version, for example.
