Chapter 9. More Business Intelligence for Inventory Control

This chapter is all about creating reports to assist in making sure you know which inventory to stock and which inventory to discontinue. This kind of information can only be derived from comparing your inventory to your invoices.

The reports we'll build here are Sales Order Processing (SOP) reports just as much as they are inventory reports. Similarly, when we built SOP reports, they contained a lot of inventory information in them as well.

What we will build:

  • Top 10 most invoiced and returned items
  • Items with quantities that are not available to sell along with items that have not been sold within the last year
