Applications, like infrastructure, require measures so that the blue team can apply for better information security during the development and production phases. Applications can also be vendor-related, but we already covered that in the previous section.
Placing measures before development can include creating an information security championship, where developers can gain knowledge and have someone who knows the security landscape as a champion, who can keep track of any discrepancies that the development team might not notice. A champion must stay aware of the affairs of the team and prevent any outside forces to disrupt the team’s activities. This can also be the role of a scrum master; however, an information security champion focuses on any vulnerabilities that might occur during development and has to make sure that they are covered before the product release.
