SAP Lumira

One of the easiest reporting tools used to connect to SAP HANA and analyze data is SAP's Lumira tool. It allows ad hoc analysis of data, without any particular formatting. If you require rapid data analysis along different axes but don't require production of formatted reports (for distribution or presentation, for example) then Lumira is the ideal tool for the job.

Tip

Lumira is a tool which used to be called Visual Intelligence. On the sap.com website, and in the software, the term Visual Intelligence still appears at times. Don't be surprised if you see the product being referred to as Visual Intelligence and not Lumira.

Downloading and installing

A trial version of Lumira, valid for 30 days, can be downloaded from the sap.com website at https://www.sap.com/campaign/ne/free_trial/visual_intelligence/index.epx.

As you can see in the following screenshot, two different versions of the software are available; 32-bit and 64-bit. The version you need to download depends on the version...
