How and when to use the Invoices module

As the heading suggests, it is not always the case that you should use the Invoices module. In fact, it is a best practice that the Invoices module should only be used if you are planning on integrating Zoho CRM with another cloud-based accounting software platform.

If you are planning on such integration, this may add huge value to your CRM, as follows:

  • It will allow a user to simply convert a Quote or a Sales Order into an Invoice with just a click of a button, thus saving a huge amount of time in double-entry on both systems.
  • It will also allow such users to create and send an invoice to the client without having to access the accounting software.
  • It will facilitate a smoother and quicker invoicing process—workflow automation can be used to create an invoice based on a field update in the Quotes or Sales Order modules.
