A quick tour of Information Designer

Information Designer is accessed from the Tools menu, but it is only available to users who have been granted a TIBCO Spotfire Information Modeler license. It is a tool for setting up data sources and building information links, which are essentially database queries that allow you to import a customized data view into Spotfire as a data table.

When you open Information Designer, you will be immediately struck by its similarity to the library you have just been looking at. That's because it is the library; it's just that Information Designer offers you specialized options to create data sources and information links. All of these objects are nevertheless stored in library folders.

It's important that you give some consideration to how you organize information link folders and how you determine access to them. The Access privilege you saw as a library folder permissions option gives users access to information links but does not allow the users to see...
