The Microsoft Lists application comes with several out-of-the-box features that will help you to build your own lists to manage your work and to collaborate with your co-workers.
To better help you understand each one of these features, we will describe them throughout the chapter with real-world scenarios whenever this is justified.
Column types are the main foundation of Lists, as you saw in Chapter 2, Creating Your First List. Each column has a data type associated with it that is responsible for the way data is displayed and stored in lists.
Microsoft Lists has a very complete set of column types that will allow you to easily define text, images, and locations, among other things. In the following list, you can find a definition for all the column types you will find when creating a new column:
