Summary

In this chapter, we reviewed the design aspect of an implementation project. After the requirements have been collected, the document is signed off, and the fit-gap process is completed, the consultant starts the design documentation process. We started this chapter with the topic of finding the right app for your business needs and discussed the evaluation, selection criteria, and engagement of ISVs solutions on the project. Many common features can fill the gaps further or complement your custom solution design; we went through them briefly to understand how you can use them in your solution design. We learned to plan and execute the design documents effectively and about common mistakes and how to avoid them along with the best practices to be followed for design patterns considering multi-company, support, and upgrade aspects.
