Multilingual features

Drupal has optional modules for enabling multilingual capabilities for entities. This effectively extends Drupal’s native language capabilities with specific, related instances of the same entity. As an example, the same node can have different versions based on the language.

Modules

Drupal offers various modules that help enable or disable specific capabilities tied to multilingual needs. Site builders should understand the purpose of each module to get the intended result.

Language module

The language module must be enabled and configured to create general support for more than one language. The module can be enabled through Drush or the UI. The following screenshot demonstrates high-level language configuration found at Administration | Configuration | Regional and language:
