In this chapter, we have covered how X-Pack adds additional features to an existing Elastic Stack setup. We started with the introduction of X-Pack, and after that, we covered the installation process of X-Pack. Then we covered the different features of X-Pack, such as security. Under security, we covered user and role management by creating users and roles, and then we assigned roles to the users. After security, we covered monitoring in detail. Then we covered alerting, configuring a watch to send alerts via email. After alerting, we covered reporting and the generation of CSV or PDF reports. Finally, we covered Machine learning, where we created single-metric and multimetric jobs and analyzed data by finding the anomalies and predicting future trends. In Chapter 6, Monitoring Applications with APM, we will cover monitoring applications with APM.
