In this section, we will learn how to backup and restore the Docker Enterprise UCP platform.

As UCP runs on top of Docker Swarm, this is the first component to review when preparing a good backup strategy.

We should run periodic backups of Docker Swarm. These backups will allow us to recover cluster configuration and workloads.

Make sure you have applied the auto-lock feature to improve secure access to Docker Swarm data as we will need it. The lock key will not be stored with a backup. You should store it in a safe place.
