Configuring the App Catalog

The App Catalog is a special site collection where custom-developed apps or third-party apps can be published for use in SharePoint Online. After the App Catalog site has been created, you can upload custom apps to it to publish it on sites or manage app requests from users.

Whether you use your own custom apps or third-party apps from the SharePoint Store or another online repository, you'll need to set up the App Catalog.

The SharePoint App Store is a custom view of Microsoft AppSource, which you are redirected to from SharePoint Online.

The general process for configuring an App Catalog is as follows:

  1. Create the App Catalog site collection.
  2. Add an app.
  3. Deploy the app.

The following sections will guide you through the common setup, configuration, and management tasks that are required for SharePoint apps.
