Implementing and Managing Conditional Access Policies

Conditional Access provides the most fine-grained control when managing the multifactor authentication requirements for your organization. Conditional Access policies can be configured from the Azure portal.

Creating Conditional Access Policies

To access the Conditional Access configuration page, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com).
  2. Select Azure Active Directory | Security | Conditional Access, and then choose Policies.

You can create new policies from scratch or use one of the Microsoft-provided 14 sample Conditional Access policy templates. Policies created by the template can be modified once they have been deployed to your tenant. Microsoft recommends using the policy templates as a starting point and then fine-tuning them for your particular use case.

To configure a template-based policy, follow these steps:
