The Art of Social Engineering
By :

Pretexting is a type of social engineering attack where the attacker creates false content to trick their victims, such as a job offer or a charity.
In the fake job offers attack, the attacker impersonates a recruiter of a company, offering a job position to the victim. In most cases, the job offer is associated with a super high salary, an executive or leadership role, or incredible benefits. In some cases, the recruiter will even give the candidate the option to select the desired benefits. This is done to make this job offer super attractive to trap the victim in the scam.
One way to prevent this attack is to double-check the identity of the person (for example, using LinkedIn). Also, make sure that the email address matches the corporate emails as, in most cases, the attacker uses a generic email (such as Gmail or Hotmail).
