An organization can extend G Suite by enabling API access so that developers can create software that integrates with the services and optimize the way things work to best suit the organization's needs.

API access is required for external applications to integrate with G Suite. Keeping it disabled will prevent all users from installing third-party applications, so it's a good idea to turn it off unless it's necessary to keep things safer.
