Implementing NAT

Windows Server 2016 supports a number of technologies to connect to other, remote networks, and for clients to connect to the server, too. In todays world, users expect to be connected to everywhere and everyone, and when reaching for the connectivity, the servers clients are connecting to need to accept the clients’ connections in a easy and, most importantly, secure way.

NAT is a IPV4 technology that maps internal, private IPv4 addresses, such as ones on your corporate network, to external, public IPv4 addresses. It enables internal network resources to use internet resources while enabling organizations to use significantly smaller number of IPv4 addresses. This is the main benefit of using IPv4 as the scarcity of IPv4 addresses is increasingly bigger every day.
