Understanding the relationship between cybersecurity and BC

Cybersecurity and BC go hand in hand. BC is often associated with natural disasters. For long periods, businesses have planned for BC by making long-term plans in case of disasters such as hurricanes, storms, floods, earthquakes, and so on. The most common form of planning for those businesses to engage in is an investment in a backup generator in case of power blackouts. Needless to say, a power blackout in a digital environment means a complete cessation of business. However, increased cybersecurity threats have seen cyber threats rise in consideration, and these now stand alongside natural disasters and have a similar potential impact on a business. The higher likelihood of a cybersecurity incident occurring as compared to a natural disaster means that cybersecurity planning in a company must be included in BC planning.
