Testing our module

Our module is now ready for testing. It can be downloaded from this book’s GitHub repository at https://github.com/PacktPublishing/Practical-Module-Development-for-Prestashop-8/tree/main/Chapter%2010/whcategoryfields. Let’s get started:

  1. Let’s install the module by browsing the Modules | Module Manager page of the PrestaShop BO.
  2. Search for your Category fields extension module inside the Design & Navigation section and click on the Install button.
  3. After the success toast message appears, go to Catalog | Categories and create a new category or edit one.

At the bottom of the form, you should see our new fields! If you add some content to a category and go to the corresponding category FO page, you will find your content in the header of the category before the product list.
