Preparing your Python environment

In this section, we will be preparing an environment to connect Qlik Sense to Python SSEs. Python SSEs are similar to R extensions.

When you use Python, you have two approaches that you can follow:

  • Installing Python on the machine from scratch, configuring all libraries, installing, or developing the code, and testing all the pieces
  • Using a container that includes Python, the libraries, and the necessary code

In this book, we are going to follow the first approach and in the Further reading section, there are links that enable us to use the second approach.
