Power BI Report Server

One of the available services that we can utilize on the SQL Server is a local version of Power BI, which was originally a cloud service running at www.PowerBI.com. Power BI has also a local variant, which is called Power BI Report Server, which offers a visually close interface to SQL Server Reporting Services, but in the background works little bit differently and has different development tools. Power BI Report Server has one primary client: Power BI Desktop for Report Server.

At the time of the writing, the latest available version of Power BI Report Server and Desktop optimized for Report Server was the March 2018 update, available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56722.
