Inserting data using HandlerSocket and PERL

Getting ready

Complete the Reading data using HandlerSocket and PERL recipe before starting this recipe.

How to do it...

  1. Create a file named hs_insert_test.pl with the following content (this script is also available on the book's website):

      die $hsw->get_error() if $resw != 0;

    $resw = $hsw->execute_single(1, '+', [ '7', 'Sylvester', 'McCoy' ],0,0);
      die $hsw->get_error() if $resw->[0] != 0;

    $resw = $hsw->execute_single(1, '+', [ '8', 'Paul', 'McGann' ],0,0);
      die $hsw->get_error() if $resw->[0] != 0;

    $hsw->close();

  2. Run the file...
